I’m usually on the other side of the conversation trying to find out if someone is the right client and project for me to develop for them, but in the past I have been in your position but with outsourcing.
Before looking for a software provider make sure you know exactly what you want out of the relationship. Or at least the best you can, the right company will help you explore your ideas (or at least one idea) and expand your information before development starts. Perhaps the wrong one will take what you give them, then just give you their standard charge of a bit of software and worry about the details later and refine the price when its too late for you to walk away.
I would suggest looking for a provider that are either agile, iterative, lean or will build you an MVP, all those things that let them prove they can build what you want without you needing to hand over all your cash. But be warned many more say they are than actually are. |
